About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and successful leader to direct our mental health and learning disabilities service in Somerset. This key role will oversee operational excellence, ensuring compliance with regulations and achieving strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the service, aligning with national and local priorities.
- Manage operational performance, ensuring quality and safety standards are consistently met.
- Lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team, fostering strong collaborative working relationships.
- Ensure financial accountability and resource management within the service budget.
- Manage challenging and high-risk operational situations effectively.
- Implement service transformation initiatives while maintaining financial control.
- Collaborate with Experts by Experience and apply co-production principles.
- Drive quality and safety improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies.
Skills and Expertise:
- Master’s level education or equivalent experience in health service management.
- Senior operational management experience in complex organisations.
- In-depth knowledge of current mental health and learning disabilities legislation.
- Proven strategic planning and execution skills.
- Strong financial management abilities.
- Demonstrated experience managing high-risk operational situations in NHS mental health services.
- Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary working and care planning processes.
- Experience transforming services while maintaining strong financial control.
- Experience working with Experts by Experience and understanding of co-production.
- Proven success in quality and safety improvement initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Exceptional leadership and team development capabilities.
- Experience leading diverse teams to improve health inequalities and access to mental healthcare (Desirable).
