About the Role:
Join our Hospital Liaison Team as a dynamic Mental Health Practitioner and take the lead in clinical decision-making. Respond to service users in crisis, conduct thorough assessments and treatment plans. This fast-paced role offers significant opportunities to enhance existing mental health care in Essex.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct holistic mental health assessments of service users presenting to the acute hospital.
- Develop and implement robust risk assessments and treatment plans in accordance with Core 24 principles.
- Provide specialist mental health care alongside physical health needs.
- Participate in the development and implementation of plans for a dedicated mental health suite within the emergency department.
- Work collaboratively with the Urgent Care Pathway, including Hospital Liaison, Crisis Response Team, and Home First Team.
- Complete mandatory training and adhere to Trust policies.
- Manage staff appraisals and supervise as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Trust policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with partners, service users, carers, clinicians, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver 24/7, 365-day mental health crisis care.
Skills and Expertise:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong clinical decision-making abilities
- Experience in mental health assessment and treatment planning
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies
- Proficiency in Core 24 principles
- Experience in a fast-paced environment
