About the Role:

Lead and develop English and Oracy across the school, supporting students with ASC and SEMH needs. Collaborate with senior leadership to implement impactful strategies for student progress and curriculum design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the literacy curriculum, reading sessions, and library resources.
  • Drive literacy and oracy across the school, ensuring continuity and progress.
  • Lead high-quality lessons and create tailored learning experiences.
  • Track student progress and attainment using assessments to inform planning and interventions.
  • Support and develop staff for effective curriculum delivery and high teaching standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture of learning.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Passion for English and oracy, and commitment to developing these areas for students with ASC and SEMH needs.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to oversee curriculum delivery and monitor student progress effectively.
  • Understanding of the needs of students with additional challenges.
  • Commitment to designing an engaging, supportive curriculum tailored to individual needs.
  • Commitment to staff development and a culture of sharing best practice and ongoing professional growth.
  • Experience in continuous improvement with a forward-thinking approach.
