About the Role:

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company in Tameside, is seeking a proactive and skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Greater Manchester. This hands-on role focuses on maintaining all electrical and mechanical equipment across the site, ensuring smooth operations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting reactive and planned maintenance across the site.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing faults in building services, plant machinery, and equipment.
  • Assisting with the training of apprentices and other maintenance team members.
  • Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and relevant legislation.
  • Completing Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities.
  • Supporting new installations of plant and equipment.
  • Carrying out electrical installation tasks (single and 3 phase), including panel wiring and cable feeding.
  • Monitoring the condition of services and machinery and reporting defects promptly to the Facilities Manager.

Skills and Expertise:

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in electrical/multi-skilled discipline.
  • Apprentice training (or equivalent).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
  • Experience with PLC and HMI systems.
  • Understanding of 18th edition wiring regulations (BS 7671).
  • Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience working with press, injection moulding, and assembly machines.
  • Experience with conveyors.
