About the Role:

Applications are invited for a full-time Trust Grade Specialty Doctor (ST1/2 equivalent) position in Neonatal Paediatrics at Croydon University Hospital, commencing 02.03.2025. This 6-month fixed-term role offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in a Level 2 Neonatal Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Trust grade specialty in neonates, covering Level 2 Neonatal unit, Labour ward, and postnatal wards.
  • Attend outpatient neonatal, general paediatric, and specialist clinics.
  • Participate in full shift system (1 in 7) on-call rota, adhering to junior doctor’s hours regulations.
  • Gain experience in follow-up at outpatient clinics under supervision.
  • Gain experience in neonatology, including emergency cover for high-risk deliveries.
  • Perform routine baby checks.
  • Gain exposure to neonatal intensive care.
  • Participate in at least one high-quality audit project.
  • Enhance understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and child protection.

Skills and Expertise:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in paediatrics preferred.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance.
  • Knowledge of risk management and child protection procedures.
