About the Role:

Exciting opportunity for a HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist to join an outstanding independent therapeutic school. This full-time, permanent role supports pupils and staff with SEMH needs, implementing interventions and strategies to enhance emotional well-being. Salary range of 36,000 – 52,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate occupational therapy ethically and with consent.
  • Assess pupils’ needs, tailor therapeutic programs, and document progress.
  • Maintain accurate therapy records and contribute to pupil reports.
  • Collaborate with educational and therapeutic teams to develop and implement pupil progress plans.
  • Engage regularly with families, provide updates, and participate in parent/carer open days.

Skills and Expertise:

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with children with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour in a classroom or similar setting.
  • In-depth understanding of child mental health, trauma, and adverse early experiences.
  • Knowledge of child development and strategies for pupils with SEMH, developmental delays, and mental health conditions (PTSD, ADHD, ASD).
  • Strong proficiency in English and Mathematics.
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills.
