About the Role:
Be a key member of the multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation team in Harrow, providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to residents. This role focuses on Early Supported Discharge for Stroke and Community Neuro Rehabilitation for those with acquired or progressive neurological conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assessment and treatment of patient caseloads.
- Maintain professional documentation and records.
- Build and maintain relationships with referring GPs, acute providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Supervise rehabilitation assistants and occupational therapy students.
- Undertake multidisciplinary neuro assessments to identify client needs and collaborate with the MDT on joint goals.
- Communicate medical information, assessment details, and recommendations to relevant agencies and clients.
- Obtain informed consent for assessments, treatments, and information sharing.
- Deliver individual occupational therapy treatments and programmes using advanced clinical reasoning.
- Demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity towards clients.
Skills and Expertise:
- Minimum 1 year experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Strong assessment and treatment skills.
- Ability to work within professional standards and clinical guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and professional guidelines.
- Experience in client-centered goal setting.
- Proficiency in using occupational therapy techniques and functional activities.
- Proficient in appropriate medical documentation.
- Ability to work autonomously.
