About the Role:

We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Reader/Chair in Paediatric Child Health to provide academic leadership and coordinate research at the Chelsea and Westminster site. A strong focus on life course research, particularly the impact of early-life ill health on later outcomes (e.g., obesity, diabetes), is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and expand existing early life and child health research at Chelsea and Westminster and across West London.
  • Focus on metabolic/endocrine paediatric medicine.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty of Medicine and the Trust (Mohn Centre, West London Children’s Healthcare, PaeCH).
  • Support academic activity.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Full GMC registration
  • Appropriate specialist qualification (MRCPCH or equivalent)
  • National/international reputation and expertise in paediatrics (commensurate with career stage)
  • Proven track record in attracting research funding (commensurate with career stage)
  • Strong research portfolio and international standing (commensurate with career stage)
  • Experience supervising higher degrees (PhD, MD(Res))
  • Experience supervising medical staff
  • Appropriate level of clinical knowledge
  • Understanding of clinical risk management
  • Expertise in relevant field
