About the Role:
We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Reader/Chair in Paediatric Child Health to provide academic leadership and coordinate research at the Chelsea and Westminster site. A strong focus on life course research, particularly the impact of early-life ill health on later outcomes (e.g., obesity, diabetes), is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance and expand existing early life and child health research at Chelsea and Westminster and across West London.
- Focus on metabolic/endocrine paediatric medicine.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Faculty of Medicine and the Trust (Mohn Centre, West London Children’s Healthcare, PaeCH).
- Support academic activity.
Skills and Expertise:
- Full GMC registration
- Appropriate specialist qualification (MRCPCH or equivalent)
- National/international reputation and expertise in paediatrics (commensurate with career stage)
- Proven track record in attracting research funding (commensurate with career stage)
- Strong research portfolio and international standing (commensurate with career stage)
- Experience supervising higher degrees (PhD, MD(Res))
- Experience supervising medical staff
- Appropriate level of clinical knowledge
- Understanding of clinical risk management
- Expertise in relevant field
