About the Role:
The Integrated Pain Service seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their forward-thinking team. The role focuses on providing specialist pain management for in-patients with acute and chronic pain, working autonomously and collaborating with the pain multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients with pain and develop, implement, and evaluate holistic pain management plans.
- Provide specialist pain management for in-patients.
- Contribute to the development of clinical practice and standards of care, including developing policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Assist in the development and delivery of educational programs and training for staff and patients.
- Provide leadership alongside the lead nurse and CNS team for chronic pain, outpatient, and day unit (CPU) services.
- Work across both hospital sites, Monday-Friday, excluding BH.
- Actively participate in the provision of pain management in inpatient and outpatient areas.
- Ensure patients receive the highest standards of clinical care underpinned by evidenced-based practice.
Skills and Expertise:
- Extensive post-registration experience.
- Recent clinical experience at Band 6 in an acute surgical or recovery/critical care setting.
- Experience dealing with patients with PCA/epidural and local anesthetic infusions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong assessment and problem-solving abilities.
