About the Role:

Gregory Distribution Ltd (GDL) is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Part-Time Payroll Administrator for a 9-month fixed-term contract. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and helpful payroll support to employees and managers.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Answer payroll queries via email and telephone.
  • Maintain payroll and time-and-attendance systems (iTrent and Open Options).
  • Calculate and check sick pay.
  • Process payrolls and related calculations.
  • Address and resolve payroll queries and corrections.
  • Process expenses.
  • Generate and process payroll reports.
  • Calculate and process payments for maternity, paternity, adoption, leavers, unpaid leave, and back pay.
  • Process statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, etc.).
  • Complete all RTI submissions to HM Revenue & Customs.
  • Maintain the payroll system by gathering, calculating, and inputting data.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience in a fast-paced administrative environment.

  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels.
  • Database management experience.
  • Proficient in managing email accounts and responding effectively.
  • Strong time management, administration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office.
  • Teamwork and initiative skills.
  • Confidence, self-motivation, and influencing abilities.
  • Payroll experience (preferred).
  • Experience in the Transport sector (preferred).
