About the Role:
This role requires a motivated and experienced receptionist to support the busy Outpatient Department. Key responsibilities include managing patient appointments, handling communications, and ensuring smooth clinic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient appointments using the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Respond efficiently to telephone calls and queries.
- Liaise with clinic staff (doctors, nurses, secretaries, etc.).
- Input patient data accurately.
- Print patient lists and reports.
- Check patient demographics and identify overseas visitors.
- Process patient attendances and outcomes.
- Adhere to 18-week pathway targets.
- Arrange ambulance transport (when required).
- Handle complaints and provide general advice.
- Organize workload and liaise with Health Records regarding records.
- Complete medical forms and never letters.
- Comply with Trust policies and procedures.
- Support patient activity within departmental targets.
- Attend mandatory training courses.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven experience in a clerical or reception environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong telephone manner.
- Flexibility to work various shifts (days, evenings, weekends).
- Proficient in using IT systems.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Teamwork and problem-solving skills.
