About the Role:

Seeking a compassionate and experienced self-employed personal assistant to support a 67-year-old gentleman with evening care in Eastbourne. This role involves providing support with bedtime routines, walking an assistance dog, and various other tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing moving and handling assistance.
  • Preparing meals.
  • Undertaking other relevant duties as required.
  • Looking after pets.
  • Assisting with dressing, undressing, and bathroom routines.
  • Assisting with bedtime routines to ensure comfort and safety.
  • Providing walking assistance and mobility support with an assistance dog.
  • Using a hoist for safe transfers.
  • Maintaining a friendly and supportive environment.
  • Preparing breakfast.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Previous experience as a carer or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of personal assistant insurance and safeguarding protocols.
  • Ability to use a hoist and assist with mobility.
  • Friendly and patient demeanor, with a compassionate approach to care.
  • Reliable with good timekeeping.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Hygienic, tidy, and well-organized.
  • Fit and healthy to undertake required duties.
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Honest and cheerful.
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard.
  • Comfortable with pets.
  • Ability to always work to high standards of health & safety.
  • Likes dogs.

Job Facilities/Benefits:

  • Job share available.
  • Flexible hours (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday morning 7.30am to 9.30am).
  • Hourly pay rate: 23.32
