About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and patient Personal Assistant to provide daily support to a 10-year-old son with autism and ADHD. This role involves assistance with daily activities, personal care, and creating a supportive environment that fosters independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily life activities, including meal preparation and personal care.
  • Escorting to and from activities, including trips to the park.
  • Providing support and assistance in and around the home.
  • Meeting any other reasonable requests or needs, as directed.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Patience and understanding towards individuals with autism and ADHD.
  • Ability to remain calm and reassuring in demanding situations.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to understand and respond to the needs of a child with limited language.
  • Confidentiality and respect for privacy.
  • Experience working with children with autism and ADHD is desirable (but not essential).
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules.
  • (Desirable) Full UK driving license and appropriate business insurance.

Job Facilities/Benefits:

  • Competitive rate of pay: 11.68 per hour.
  • 2 hours per week.
  • Weekday afternoons or early evenings with occasional Saturdays (to be agreed).
  • Holiday entitlement equivalent to 5.6 consecutive weeks’ work.
