About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant for a young boy living in Swansea. This role requires a supportive and reliable individual to assist with daily needs, outings, and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance, including changing nappies.
  • Accompany the client on outings, including to the park and community events.
  • Engage with the client through play, activities, and communication.
  • Ensure the clients safety and well-being at all times.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the clients privacy.
  • Communicate effectively with the client’s family (if applicable).
  • Maintain a safe environment for both the client and the Personal Assistant.
  • Manage appointments and schedules, maintaining punctuality.
  • Ensure transportation by car with adequate business insurance.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Proven experience in personal care assistance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to understand and utilize Makaton.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
  • Knowledge of local community resources.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
  • Essential experience with changing nappies and maintaining client safety.

Job Facilities/Benefits:

  • 12.75 per hour.
  • 7 hours per week, preferably 5 hours on Sundays.
  • Monthly salary payments.
  • Pro-rata annual leave.
  • DBS cost covered by the employer where eligible.
  • 6-month probationary period.
