About the Role:

We are seeking a caring and attentive Personal Care Assistant to support a 20-year-old male with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This full-time role provides essential care and support in a home environment, with opportunities to promote independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing personal care, including tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, and medication administration.
  • Supporting with domestic care and daily living activities.
  • Facilitating social and leisure activities.
  • Promoting independence and assisting with college attendance.
  • Implementing safeguarding adults/children procedures.
  • Complying with moving & handling and first aid protocols.
  • Adhering to hand hygiene and infection control procedures.
  • Safe administration of medications and continence care.
  • Performing catheterization and suction (nasal/oral).
  • Supporting with PEG feeding.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience in personal care or similar support roles (preferred, but not essential).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Calm, patient, and understanding demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work both day and night shifts.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Ability to drive a motability equipped car (if required).

Job Facilities/Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: 14.00/hr (day shift) & 17.00/hr (night shift).
