About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Band 5 Physiotherapist with a focus on older adult care to join our integrated Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team in Oxford. The role offers broad experience across various hospital wards and provides excellent opportunities for career progression to Band 6.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of older adult patients following hospital admission.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, including newly qualified physiotherapists and students.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and research projects.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to professional standards.
- Contribute to the team’s extended hours and seven-day service provision.
- Utilize rehabilitation equipment safely and effectively.
- Promote and implement best practice in older adult care and rehabilitation.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of common pathologies in older adults (ageing, falls, frailty).
- Expertise in neurology, trauma, musculoskeletal, and respiratory care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of professionalism and empathy.
- Proficiency in using electronic patient record systems.
- Experience in supervising junior staff (desirable).
- Understanding of national and local clinical standards.
