About the Role:
Join our Facilities Maintenance team at HMP Send in Surrey and contribute to a safe and nurturing environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors. As a Mechanical Engineer (Plumber), you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the prison’s heating, water, and ventilation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and repair plumbing systems, adhering to safety regulations and Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Install and maintain commercial and industrial heating and water systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven experience as a plumber or equivalent (minimum 2 years).
- Thorough understanding of Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
- Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems.
- Working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
- C&G qualifications in Plumbing and domestic heating (6189), Plumbing (Advanced craft) (5962), Mechanical Engineering services (plumbing) (6019), heating and ventilation installation (6018), and other relevant certifications (6129, 214, 6188, 6088, 6032, EAL Diploma).
- Strong organisational, time management and people skills.
