About the Role:
Lead a policy team focused on delivering landmark reforms under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023. Design and implement impactful policies, driving significant change in UK corporate governance and transparency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver effective policies related to economic crime and corporate transparency.
- Lead a team of 8-10 policy professionals, including 3-4 Grade 7s.
- Collaborate with Companies House, lawyers, analysts, stakeholders, and other government departments to ensure policy execution.
- Provide advice to ministers and engage with external stakeholders.
- Manage strong public, political, and departmental interest in this area.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across Whitehall.
- Influence Companies House programme boards and wider anti-corruption boards.
- Assure quality and support learning within the team.
Skills and Expertise:
- Strong experience in policy development within government.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Understanding of company law and corporate governance.
- Knowledge of economic crime and illicit finance.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in designing and delivering primary and secondary legislation.
