About the Role:

We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Database Administrator (DBA) to join our database team. You will play a critical role in ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of our data systems, supporting the data needs of the entire organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of database systems.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems across NCA sites.
  • Manage database server and storage system deployments.
  • Ensure alignment with NHS standards and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical leadership and support in diagnosing and resolving database issues and incidents.
  • Guide digital team members in identifying root causes and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Implement advanced security measures to protect database environments and sensitive data.
  • Implement access controls, encryption technologies, and monitoring systems.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in database technologies.
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize database infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture and design.
