About the Role:
This role provides exceptional support in curriculum development, quality assurance, student support, and placement for apprenticeships and funded programs in London. This position also includes organisational, administrative, and line management responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead curriculum development and delivery for apprenticeships, skills bootcamps, and adult learning, ensuring all programs meet relevant standards and address student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead curriculum innovation and development.
- Manage course quality and subject review activities.
- Ensure courses meet student needs and continually improve teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement action plans.
- Manage the Quality Improvement Process.
- Manage external examination arrangements.
- Lead to improve teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Work with the Apprenticeship Delivery Manager to meet targets and Ofsted standards.
- Ensure IQA and EQA requirements are met.
- Improve learner and employer recruitment.
- Lead a team of staff to implement strategic vision.
- Deliver Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to colleagues.
- Plan a current and future curriculum that responds to local need.
- Ensure an excellent student experience and support.
- Track student progress and implement interventions.
- Manage staffing and non-staffing resources, including budget.
- Use data to strategically improve student and staff performance.
- Recruit, induct, appraise, develop, and train line-managed staff.
- Coordinate the pastoral programme (tutorials, personal development, careers advice).
- Liaise with staff and agencies for student support.
- Oversee student admissions, enrolment, induction, and progression.
- Promote student attendance, punctuality, and discipline.
- Lead and build a team, running regular meetings.
- Encourage collaborative working, sharing of good practice.
- Consult on planning and ensure a team approach to quality issues.
- Encourage peer observation, learning walks, and quality visits.
- Undertake external liaison.
- Keep up-to-date on strategic developments and initiatives.
- Produce marketing materials (fact sheets, course guides).
- Promote the program through recruitment activities.
- Carry out allocated teaching, assessing, and associated duties.
Skills and Expertise:
- Degree level education or equivalent professional qualification.
- Recognized teaching qualification (level 4 or above).
- Assessor and internal verifier qualifications.
- Teaching, assessing, and IQA experience.
- Experience in raising quality of provision.
- Experience managing quality of delivery across funding streams.
- Knowledge of Ofsted and the Education Inspection Framework.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of current teaching, learning, and assessing strategies.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in IT and its use in teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Awareness and understanding of Safeguarding, Prevent, and Equality & Diversity.
- Working knowledge of Quality processes, retention, achievement, and success rates, current teaching & learning pedagogy, Ofsted requirements, IQA, and Quality Assurance processes.
