About the Role:

Support the Regional Financial Controller in the preparation and analysis of weekly and monthly reporting for the Mller Milk & Ingredients Driver Logistics business unit in the South. This role offers the opportunity to develop finance skills and contribute to the success of the regional team in Gloucestershire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Regional Financial Controller in budgetary cost control, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.
  • Preparation of management accounts and KPIs.
  • Assist in weekly and monthly variance analysis to aid decision-making.
  • Manage relationships with third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with site depot managers to understand core risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain overall financial control and manage risks within Logistics.
  • Ensure accurate reporting through appropriate checks.
  • Prepare monthly cost bridge causal and KPI summary for review.
  • Review monthly accounts and advise on any ad-hoc journals needed.
  • Prepare expense reports and routine journals for period end.
  • Update initiative trackers and prepare weekly labour reports.
  • Submit weekly/monthly SAP inputs and meet SAP cycle deadlines.
  • Develop effective cross-functional working relationships at all levels within the business.
  • Support RFCs in preparing budgets and forecasts for the region.
  • Cover for others in the Regional Logistics Controlling team when required.
  • Assist the RFC in ad-hoc projects and analysis.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Strong accounting background and familiarity with Financial Accounting principles.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to provide insights from data.
  • Hands-on approach to core IT systems and strong spreadsheet skills (SAP experience preferred but not required).
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage and influence decision-making within the site leadership team.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on own initiative and develop skills in new areas.
  • Team player capable of working independently.
