About the Role:

Our client, an established provider of OFSTED registered independent Children’s Homes, seeks a dedicated and experienced Responsible Individual to join their team in Maidstone, Kent. This key role is instrumental in ensuring the home’s compliance with regulations, fostering a positive environment for children, and contributing to the strategic management of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and motivate the management of the children’s home, adhering to the home’s approach and ethos.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the home and Ofsted, ensuring full compliance with legislation, regulations, and good practice.
  • Implement and ensure the operation of equality and diversity measures.
  • Ensure the implementation of statutory and home policies and provide feedback to senior leaders on policy effectiveness.
  • Resolve complex operational and service-based problems and conflicts arising from the daily running of the home, including complaints and HR processes.
  • Guarantee children and young people access services meeting their health, education, social, psychological, and emotional needs.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Degree level education (ideally with a qualification in team management, professional supervision of management, or quality management).
  • Proven work-related continuous management development and strategic management experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Registered Manager in a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ rated home, or equivalent experience as a Responsible Individual.
  • Level 5 diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Solid experience in budget and resource management, quality development, and improvement within a Residential Childcare environment.
  • Extensive experience working with children, young people, and their families.
