About the Role:

Lighthouse Hotel Management seeks a strategic Sales Manager to drive sales and marketing initiatives for multiple hotel facilities in Cambridgeshire. The role requires a proactive approach to achieving revenue targets and building strong commercial relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing Sales & Marketing goals and strategies aligned with hotel business plans.
  • Execute strategic commercial plans and monthly KPI reviews.
  • Ensure sales and marketing goals are met for the hotel teams.
  • Demonstrate leadership in revenue-generating departments, fostering a sales-focused culture.
  • Support reactive sales teams in conversion processes.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations and brands.
  • Develop strong community and public relations through participation in tradeshows, exhibitions, and networking events.
  • Drive account penetration and new business development to achieve and exceed revenue budgets.
  • Stay informed about brand initiatives and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the global sales team to drive fair share.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of brand compliance and values.
  • Conduct weekly tele-sales and social selling activities, scheduling appointments for self and team colleagues.
  • Generate sales leads for other Lighthouse Hotel Management hotels.
  • Update the IHG website with relevant offers and information.
  • Manage a light-touch social media presence.
  • Research competitor strategies to identify revenue growth opportunities (TRevPAR).
  • Suggest innovative marketing ideas and proactively develop them.
  • Review STR, competitive reports, and other resources to maintain market awareness.
  • Complete annual corporate Wish, Want, Walk documentation (updated monthly).
  • Consider local demand calendars when establishing new accounts.
  • Develop and convert leads and inquiries, recording all data using hotel PMS and Salesforce.com.
  • Ensure guest expectations are exceeded throughout the sales process.
  • Maintain regular customer interaction for feedback on service levels.
  • Attend pre- and post-conference meetings when relevant.
  • Ensure account management activities are recorded and reported in Salesforce.com.
  • Provide monthly sales reports by the second business day.
  • Attend business reviews and executive board meetings when required.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with General Managers and Sales Managers.
  • Ensure ongoing communication and expectations are set via weekly strategy meetings.
  • Ensure all departments are aware of Space Invaders sales incentives.
  • Attend required internal and external training courses.
  • Develop and manage internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Adhere to company policies, conduct, and procedures.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the line manager.
  • Pursue continuous professional development.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Single unit sales management experience with demonstrated results across various markets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of market segments and total sales revenues to support hotel operations.
  • Experience working with a global hotel brand and developing successful strategies.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills and negotiation abilities.
  • Knowledge of revenue management, account profitability, RFP processes, and relevant systems.
  • Strong organizational skills, effective decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to support, develop, and implement successful sales and marketing strategies.
