About the Role:
This Science Graduate Academic Mentor role provides a unique opportunity to engage with secondary school students, supporting their academic development and inspiring their passion for science. You’ll provide personalized support, boost student confidence, and help them excel academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized academic support to students across all year groups.
- Offer one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions outside the classroom.
- Help students overcome challenging concepts, boosting their confidence and knowledge.
- Develop and deliver advanced tasks for high-achieving students.
- Work with experienced teachers to develop teaching methods and classroom management techniques.
Skills and Expertise:
- Recent Science or related degree graduate (2:1 or higher).
- Experience tutoring KS3 & KS4 students (advantageous, but not essential).
- Ability to simplify complex scientific concepts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for science and inspiring others.
