About the Role:
TLTP is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term position (with potential for permanency) at an outstanding primary school in Tunbridge Wells. This role will support a young child with complex needs, focusing on speech, language, and mobility, within Key Stage 1, Year 2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to a child with complex SEN needs.
- Develop and implement learning strategies tailored to the child’s specific needs.
- Collaborate effectively with the classroom teacher and other support staff.
- Assist in managing the child’s behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of the child’s progress and support.
Skills and Expertise:
- Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
- Experience working with children with complex needs (speech, language, mobility).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to build positive relationships with children and adults.
- Knowledge of relevant technology and equipment for SEN support.
- Understanding of SEN/ASD and Key Stage 1 learning.
- Previous administration or childcare experience (desirable).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
