About the Role:

This Senior Clinical Fellow position in Acute Medicine supports the department’s inpatient and ambulatory patient care pathways. The role involves a rolling rota across Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC), and the General Internal Medicine Rota (GIM). Two new positions are available within a high-performing and supportive Acute Medicine team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior decision-making in clinical areas.
  • Ensure early and effective decision-making and care implementation.
  • Provide effective clinical leadership to junior medical and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain high clinical standards in patient management.
  • Assist with teaching, training, and assessment of junior staff, nursing staff and multi-disciplinary team members.
  • Actively participate in departmental and Trust-wide Clinical Governance and audit matters.
  • Ensure active participation in Continuing Medical Education (CME).
  • Deputise for absent colleagues and perform additional duties in emergencies to ensure department safety.
