About the Role:
Lead communications planning and management for the UK’s largest NHS community healthcare trust. This senior role offers a fantastic opportunity to oversee a busy in-house communications team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily activities of the CLCH communications team.
- Identify strategic and operational priorities, providing direction and adapting planned activity.
- Demonstrate solid judgment and extensive communications knowledge to capitalize on opportunities, resolve issues, and manage priorities independently.
- Handle sensitive, complex reactive media issues.
- Develop proactive media relations and stakeholder plans to build the organization’s reputation.
- Report to and work closely with the Head of Communications to shape the Trust’s communications strategy.
- Act as the Trust’s most senior point of contact for communications.
- Influence senior decision-making and provide strategic communications advice on incidents and sensitive issues.
- Proactively work with clinical services and healthcare partners to showcase the work of CLCH.
- Lead on the production of the Trust’s annual report and annual review magazine.
- Manage the Trust’s corporate identity and brand.
- Line manage and support staff professional development to maintain a high-quality communications service.
Skills and Expertise:
- Management experience in a busy in-house communications team.
- Experience handling sensitive, complex reactive media issues.
- Experience developing proactive media relations and stakeholder plans.
- Experience working in a public affairs role (desired).
- Ability to influence senior decision-making.
- Strong communications and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in managing shifting priorities.
