About the Role:

Develop and manage cloud infrastructure solutions for a large-scale government department. Ensure reliability, security, and availability of critical digital services used by millions of UK citizens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure using Azure.
  • Build scalable and resilient infrastructure utilizing Azure Virtual Machines, Kubernetes, and Functions.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Azure Resource Manager and Terraform.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to DevOps principles and best practices.
  • Manage different storage types, volumes, and snapshots.
  • Manage Azure Virtual Networks, Subnets, and Security Groups.
  • Maintain and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with multiple teams to support business-critical services.
  • Follow change management processes diligently, and pursue perfection to eliminate root causes of issues.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Expert in Azure Cloud technologies, including Azure Resource Manager and Terraform.
  • Strong experience building scalable and resilient infrastructure in Azure.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as a Code (IaC).
  • Expert in managing different storage types, volumes, and snapshots.
  • Knowledge of GIT, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure VNET, private networks, and networking security.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Linux/Red Hat/CentOS and Bash scripting.
  • Experience with Windows Server and PowerShell scripting.
  • Understanding of SRE principles and change management.
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
