About the Role:

The Sunnyside team seeks a motivated Senior Support Worker to provide temporary support to individuals with diverse needs, covering maternity leave. This role offers the chance to mentor and coach junior staff while ensuring high-quality support and adherence to budgetary requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor support staff, providing supervision and identifying training needs.
  • Develop and implement monthly rotas, considering budgetary constraints and ensuring staff meet contracted hours.
  • Provide on-call support on a rotational basis and regular shifts on the frontline.
  • Liaise with external health professionals and facilitate meetings with supported individuals and their families to develop person-centred support plans.
  • Match supported individuals with staff, considering specific outcomes and goals.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in providing support to individuals in care settings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare (or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to motivate and lead others.
  • Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle (required).
