About the Role:

As a Service Desk Analyst, you will play a critical role in the 24/7 management of a Message Handling System (MHS). This role focuses on High Grade Messaging (HGM) service delivery to a select UK and international customer base within the Defence Digital OPERATE J3 area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing formal signal messages for timely distribution, ensuring adherence to procedural rules and precedence priority.
  • Recording and determining transmission paths, monitoring and vetting out-of-hours signal traffic.
  • Managing the signal process, recording and distributing messages according to security regulations.
  • Monitoring and reporting message irregularities and equipment faults.
  • Preparing special handling signals for onward delivery using IT message handling systems.
  • Managing the publication of instructions and guidance.
  • Ensuring timely filling of bid equipment during crypto key material changeovers.
  • Maintaining records of controlled access to Commcen.
  • Supporting the Commcen Manager by taking on additional roles as needed.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Experience with IT Message Handling Systems.
  • Understanding of security regulations for classified information.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Service Transition practices (beneficial).
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 shift-working environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
