About the Role:

This full-time SHE Advisor position within Greggs’ Safety, Health and Environmental team in the North East requires a motivated individual to support the Retail SHE Manager. This role offers a balance between flexibility and hands-on activities and is based in the North East.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive compliance-led culture with Retail SHE Manager.
  • Implement and monitor SHE policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Support and deputize for Retail SHE Manager in maintaining relationships with central retail functions.
  • Foster effective communication across all management levels.
  • Compile shop visit plans and monitor their execution.
  • Perform SHE audits, inspections, and risk assessments (Fire and General) in shops.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, injury complaints, and compensation claims.
  • Maintain electronic records and case files for SHE incidents.
  • Compile data for action management and analysis.
  • Provide guidance and support on SHE matters to employees and customers.
  • Ensure SHE values are integrated into daily retail operations.

Skills and Expertise:

  • Understanding of UK Health, Safety and Environmental law.
  • Fire safety qualification or experience with Fire Risk Assessments.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure.
  • Teamwork and collaborative spirit.
  • Desire for development and a positive attitude.
