About the Role:
This Band 7 Stoma Nurse Specialist position within Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust supports the Colorectal Service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a specialist team, contributing to the development of colorectal services and enhancing stoma pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical care and advice to patients with stomas.
- Work closely with medical staff, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to manage patient care.
- Lead nurse-led clinics and participate in clinical audits.
- Provide education to patients, staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Offer ongoing support to patients with established stomas and refer them to community services.
Skills and Expertise:
- Extensive experience in Stoma nursing.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and provide leadership.
- Cross-site flexibility to cover gaps within the team.
- Experience with trauma and complex cases.
- Experience caring for patients on cancer pathways.
