About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide engaging social and leisure activities for a 16-year-old with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). The role focuses on building trust and rapport while encouraging participation in various hobbies including gaming, sports, and pet interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with the teenager in social activities, such as going to the gym, gaming, cycling, and boxing.
- Maintain regular communication via WhatsApp and Snapchat.
- Accompany the teenager on dog walks.
- Act as a supportive gym buddy.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience working with individuals with DLD is preferred.
- Enthusiastic, vibrant, and understanding of confidentiality.
- Honest, reliable, punctual, and able to build trusting relationships.
- Flexible, adaptable, and easy-going with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel.
- Good sense of humour.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust.
- Interest in gaming (PS and Xbox).
