About the Role:
This 1:1 Teaching Assistant provides crucial support to a student with specific learning needs. Working alongside the class teacher and other staff, the assistant ensures the student fully participates in the curriculum, develops independence, and achieves their potential in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 assistance to the student in lessons, adapting materials and activities to meet their needs.
- Support the student with specific learning difficulties, disabilities, or additional needs (e.g., speech and language delays, autism, ADHD, or physical disabilities).
- Foster the student’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Encourage independence and self-confidence.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver tailored interventions and resources.
- Assist in preparing differentiated materials and activities for the student.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment for all learners.
- Implement positive behavior strategies and support the student in managing their emotions and interactions.
- Address any behavioral challenges in line with the school’s behavior policy.
