About the Role:
Portsmouth City Council seeks a motivated Trainee Contracts Officer to join our Adult Social Care (ASC) team on a fixed-term contract or secondment for up to 12 months. This role is critical for supporting the efficient delivery of contracts and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring contracts for procured services.
- Work closely with commissioners and service providers.
- Support the development of service specifications and contracts.
- Contribute to service improvement activities.
- Support the development and implementation of contracts for Public Health and Social Care services.
- Ensure appropriate contracts are developed, put in place, and monitored on time.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in office-based employment, ideally in Health and Social Care.
- Understanding of collaborative working with stakeholders in the commissioning and contracting process.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a pressured environment.
- Knowledge and/or experience of tendering and contract management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and confident personal qualities.
- Demonstrate fairness, innovation, achievement-orientation, and sensitivity to public sector working.
- Ability to work in an anti-discriminatory way and handle confidentiality, human rights, and data protection requirements.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- Competitive salary in Band 8 (35,235 – 37,937 p.a.)
