About the Role:
Our client in Saltash is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Operative to join their team on a long-term contract, with the possibility of permanent employment. This role involves ensuring efficient stock management and maintaining high customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unload and verify incoming stock deliveries, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of mechanical equipment, reporting any defects.
- Maintain warehouse security, conducting checks on outgoing orders and deliveries.
- Handle customer returns effectively and professionally.
- Perform regular stock checks, ensuring accuracy in the computer stock file.
- Comply with company policy on damage control and replacement parts.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, ensuring proper stock rotation and organization.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve individual and team goals.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for customers and employees.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the depot.
Skills and Expertise:
- Experience in warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of stock management procedures.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to operate mechanical handling equipment (desirable but not essential).
- Forklift license (desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Facilities/Benefits:
- 11.90/hour.
- 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
